What's In It For Me!

Thank you for your interest in joining the Professional Counselling Association of the ACT and NSW Inc, (PCA). 

PCA have a number of branches operating throughout NSW and the ACT. Attendance at these meetings is a cost effective way for members of the Association to receive group supervision and ongoing professional development points recognised by the Australian Counselling Association.

Each branch meeting is either run monthly or bi-monthly by professional counsellors who are members of the PCA and ACA.

With your annual membership fee of $125 as from 1st July each year, you will receive light refreshments, hear from a guest presenter for professional development, and receive at least one hour to two hours of group supervision by an ACA accredited Clinical Supervisor.

With most OPD courses costing over $200 a day and supervision costing $120 hr or more, you stand to save over $300 for each branch meeting you attend, and remember you can attend as many different branches as you wish.

Membership is open to current members of the Australian Counselling Association, who are located in NSW and the ACT. The PCA is committed to delivering services to its members that are second to none.

Membership offers an economical and effective way to receive ongoing development points and supervision, vital to remaining registered and current with modern counselling techniques!

On receipt of your application and payment of fees you will be sent out a Certificate of Membership for the current financial year as well as a card for branch attendances for the whole year, at any branch in NSW or the ACT. 


You will be able to use the post-nominal letters MPCA after your name.


Current Membership Levels and Pricing Structure

Full Member

  • Open to all practising members of the Australian Counselling Association Inc (Level 1 - 4). You must provide proof of current financial year ACA membership copy of receipt.
  • Copy of certificate of currency of insurance (if you want to be listed on the website).
  • A one-off yearly Membership Fee $125.00. This includes attendance to all branch meetings in NSW and ACT. You can apply on-line, this will create an invoice which will be automatically email to you. An administrator will follow up and assess your application.
  • Progress can be checked on-line. A certificate and a membership card will be emailed after successful application.

Student Member

  • Open to all student counsellors currently studying for an ACA recognised qualification and holding student membership with the Australian Counselling Association. Must provide PCA with details of course and student number.
  • Free entry to meetings upon presentation of student card.

 

About Guests

  • The PCA invites guests to attend. Non ACA members can attend branch meetings for $20. Guests are only allowed to attend the professional development section of the meeting. Upon request a certificate of attendance may be given.
  • ACA members can attend one meeting as a GUEST for free to observe what the PCA offers to members. Then ACA members must join the PCA to continue attending future meetings of the PCA.
